Mai is a Welsh artist who lives in the Ceiriog Valley near the Welsh borders. She studied painting at the Royal College of Art, London and gained her PhD from The University of Wales, entitled ‘Object Based Learning, a study of audience engagement through the creation of artworks’.

Community engagement and inclusion are at the core of her practice. She creates artworks out of both natural and manmade materials, combining craft and fine art to make sculptural objects and fully immersive environments. Her portfolio demonstrates diversity and a broad repertoire of experience working with all ages and contexts inside and out.
